A meeting by various high-ranking officials including the Minister of Health met today to evaluate the current risks faced by Trinidad and Tobago regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus.
They discussed the global developments relating to the virus.
The team also talked about border protection strategies for T&T and how the country responds, including testing of samples, patient isolation protocols among other things.
There have been no confirmed COVID-19 cases in T&T and samples tested from all domestic suspected cases have received a negative result.
Despite this, the Government says it continues to maintain its state of extreme vigilance.
Minister Terrence Deyalsingh emphasised the ‘rapid and robust response’ that would be required to ensure the continued protection of the population.
