68 persons were arrested in Central Trinidad yesterday during a major police exercise known as ‘operation strike back’.
35 were held on outstanding warrants while the others allegedly committed offences ranging from driving under the influence, drug possession, larceny, harbouring a fugitive, and being a illegal immigrant.
Senior Superintendent Deodath Dulalchan adds that exercises like these are important in the fight against crime.

54 persons were also held in the North and East Divisions during police exercises on Wednesday and Thursday as well, while 18 were arrested in Port of Spain today.
