Over 670,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines available for booster programme

    T&T has over 600,000 doses of assorted COVID-19 vaccines on hand, which will be available for use in the upcoming COVID-19 vaccine booster programme.

    During today’s media briefing, Health Minister, Terrence Deyalsingh, also stated that details on this programme will come in the week ahead.

    Mr. Deyalsingh also confirmed that talks are continuing with vaccine manufacturers, other countries and COVAX regarding vaccine acquisition.

    Also speaking was Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, who explained why some 3rd shots are being called “additional primary doses” as opposed to “boosters”.
