The OWTU is defending a request by Patriotic Energies Ltd to view the refinery in “greater detail”.
The revelation was made by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley in the Parliament yesterday, as he gave an update on the company’s purchase of the facility.
OWTU President Ancel Roget says the inspection is simply due diligence.
He adds that this inspection was not a recent request, but was instead agreed upon weeks ago.
Patriotic Energies, which is owned by the OWTU, was selected last year as the preferred bidder to operate the refinery.
