OWTU upset over “bad faith” in refinery talks

The OWTU claims the acquisition of refinery in Pointe-a-Pierre has taken backward steps due to “bad faith” in discussions.

Last year union-owned company, Patriotic Energies, won the bidding process for the facility but a deal is yet to be signed.

OWTU President Ancel Roget alleges that a meeting was held on July 23rd 2020 with the team overseeing the transition, during which time six issues were highlighted.

However, he claims after submitting a document to the team reflecting those discussions, there was a reversal in progress.

Mr Roget says the union attempted to meet with the technical team but discussions carded for Saturday were cancelled.
