Permission granted for march at Savannah on Saturday

    The acting Police Commissioner has granted permission for Mr Umar Abdullah to host and observe “The Worldwide Rally to Freedom” tomorrow at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

    However, McDonald Jacob has called on those involved to comply with the health regulations, given the high number of COVID cases being reported lately.

    He remind that the public march should have no more than 250 persons in number, while social distancing and sanitization is also necessary, along with face coverings

    The acting Top Cop adds that the regulation state there should be no gathering of persons in excess of 10 people therefore, the march should be organized in clusters of no more than 10 persons, with the total not exceeding 250.

    Meanwhile, Mr. Abdullah stated that he will ensure all Public Health Protocols are observed and maintained during the march, carded to be held between 2pm and 5pm.

    He said the this event is an initiative of The World Wide Rally for Freedom, involving 40 countries and 150 cities around the world.
