Petition to get Mosquito Creek problems fixed

A Facebook petition is currently being signed, calling for Mosquito Creek infrastructure to be fixed in order to help with traffic congestion.

It currently has 9,875 signatures and when it reaches 10,000, Wesley Williams, who started it, plans to take the petition to the Works and Transport Minister.

The petition states that for years, residents of Fyzabad, Oropouche, Rousillac, La Brea and Point Fortin have suffered due to a lack of innovative engineering solutions at the Creek.

Among the issues it points out is an ineffective sea wall, an inefficient drainage system as well as poorly engineered roads and bridges.

The mosquito creek at South Trunk Road is one of two major thoroughfares joining the South Western peninsula with the rest of the country.
