The programme of COVID-19 assistance set up for May would now apply to June according to the Prime Minister.
Dr Keith Rowley revealed this today at a media conference, where he noted that more progress is needed before any changes can be made to lockdown measures.
He also said construction will have to remain idle for, possibly, the next two weeks and discussions will take place about aiding the industry.
Dr Rowley stated that given the continued restrictions citizens, in general, would require help from the State for this month as well.
Dr Rowley’s comment follows a hint of similar action dropped by the finance minister during Parliament last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the PM said, there will information later tonight on the phased or rotated opening of hardwares so persons with emergencies can buy small items.
He also addressed reports of increases in the price of local cement.
