Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says claims that Government is using the Sedition Act to charge political opponents are “absolute folly”.

The legislation has been hotly debated in the past week, after Progressive Democratic Patriots political leader Watson Duke was charged and appeared in court.

Dr Keith Rowley addressed the allegations during today’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing.

Dr Rowley also dismissed claims the law is being used to silence the media.

Dr Rowley adds that while he is open to discussions about amendments, he believes this type of law is needed.
