PM speaks on Cummings allegations

The Prime Minister has responded to calls for him to take action after allegations were made against government MP Foster Cummings.

A TTPS Special Branch report was released by UNC Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial which claimed the MP was involved in unscrupulous business, including the claiming of land belonging to the HDC.

However, at a media conference last week, MP Cummings assured that his hands are clean.

Speaking at today’s Post-Cabinet briefing, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley explained the role of the Special Branch.

The PM then took on call for him to act on the report.

Dr Rowley insisted that he is “defending no one” against allegations as his Cabinet members will be on their own in matters of integrity.
