Investigations are underway into an online scam where persons are being told they can get money from government or a recognized world body like the United Nations, by paying a small fee.

The TTPS says persons have received messages on social media claiming they can qualify for a $25,000 grant by paying US$400.

It is urging citizens to bring attempts of these scams to the police’s attention immediately.

The TTPS says for credible information on social welfare and other grants, persons should visit the official social media accounts of the various government ministries.
