Police make drug bust as driver abandons pickup with $1.45m of marijuana


    Police have found $1.45 million worth of marijuana in an abandoned pickup in Point Fortin.

    The bust was made during a roadblock along the Southern Central Road on Monday 2nd December 2019.

    The driver of the white Hyundai pickup transporting the narcotics saw police, turned around and sped off in the opposite direction.

    Officers found the pickup abandoned near Salazar Trace with seven crocus bags underneath a blue tarpaulin in the tray.

    The bags contained 183 brown coloured packets of marijuana weighing a total of 145kgs.
