Gun seized as police respond to attempted break-in


    A firearm has been seized by officers responding to an attempted break-in at a house in La Romain.

    The incident occurred earlier this morning, at Charles Street.

    According to the TTPS, responding officers came upon two men fitting the description of the suspects, however upon seeing the police vehicle, they began to run.

    One of the suspects allegedly pointed an object at the officers, during which time there were two bursts of light and loud explosions.

    One of the officers fired two rounds from his service pistol in response, however the suspects were able to escape.

    The officers later recovered a Taurus .40 mm pistol with eight rounds of .40mm ammunition in a magazine.
