Prison officer’s home shot at, worried about family’s safety

A prison officer is worried about the safety of his family after his Pleasantville home was shot up by gunmen over the weekend.

The Trinidad Express reports that the incident happened around 12:30am yesterday.

The officer’s daughter was watching TV when she heard explosions and looked through the window to see a man in a hooded jersey running down the street.

She reportedly contacted her father who was at a private function at the time.

Olang Harris, who has 23 years’ service and is attached to the Golden Grove Prison, indicated that this was not the first time that his home had been shot at.

The incident comes days after the Prison’s Commissioner called on officers to be extremely cautious, especially when off duty, on the heels of a message of an alleged plot to “kill any two officers”.
