British Queen’s Counsel Vincent Nelson has pleaded guilty to his role in an alleged conspiracy with former attorney general Anand Ramlogan and former UNC senator Gerald Ramdeen.
The case allegedly involved financial transactions and alleged rewards for representation in state briefs, obtained during Mr Ramlogan’s tenure as Attorney General.
According to Newsday, Mr Nelson was indicted on three counts of conspiring to commit money laundering, misbehaviour in public office and conspiracy to commit an act of corruption.
Today, he appeared in the Port of Spain High Court before Justice Malcolm Holdip, who accepted the plea agreement deal struck with the State.
He will be sentenced on January 16th.
