Rambharat: Cultivation “covenant” to be enforced; persons to be “relieved” of land

Persons will be “relieved” of lands granted by the state if they are not maintaining cultivation of the land, according to the Agriculture Minister.

Speaking in Parliament today during the budget debate, Mr Clarence Rambharat says this requirement is covered by an agreement, termed as a covenant.

He says several young persons are expressing their interests in agriculture and says money from the ministry’s allocation will go towards redistributing land.
