Run-Off poll on Sunday to choose Leader of PNM’s Tobago Council

This Sunday, there will be a runoff election to determine the new leader of the PNM’s Tobago Council.

This, after there was a tie in the internal election held on Sunday.

There were four contenders for the post of leader, with the front runners being incumbent Kelvin Charles and Ambassador Tracy Davidson-Celestine.

Neither however could secure more than 50% of the votes.

As a result, a run-off poll featuring these two candidates will now be held to determine Leadership of the PNM’s Tobago Council.

Speaking during a media conference today, Mrs Davidson-Celestine welcomed the runoff date.

The appeal for a clean campaign was echoed by Mr Charles.
