Saharan dust concentration rises again


    The Saharan dust concentration has risen yet again.

    According to the MET Service, the new plume is at significant concentrations – reducing visibility over the Northern Range to 6 km this morning.

    The latest model data also suggests that this new dust surge will peak today before gradually decreasing over the coming days.

    At this time the Saharan dust is forecast to be present in our atmosphere in significant amounts for the next 3-4 days.

    Persons with respiratory illnesses are urged to take the necessary precautions.
