To keep their doors open in the midst of alleged water woes, some San Juan and Barataria businesses have had to buy truck borne water.
This is according to a media release by San Juan Business Association President Vivek Charran a day after the area’s MP highlighted the issues.
The major issue, he says, is that of sanitization which citizens and establishments are being urged to carry out regularly in the fight against COVID-19.
He warns that food businesses in particular are suffering as they already cannot facilitate dine-in sales due to the pandemic.
Mr Charran claims that WASA has been contacted by several establishments but their pleas continue to fall on deaf ears.
