Results for the 2020 SEA Exam will be released this Thursday, October 8th 2020.
This year however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the collection of results will be a bit different.
The Education Ministry says the results will be disseminated to the respective District Offices on that morning, and as is standard procedure, these will be collected by Principals from 8am for distribution.
Principals will arrange specific periods of time for collection of results from 10am.
According to the Ministry, only one parent/guardian will be permitted onto the school compound with the child to collect results and they must leave immediately after doing so.
It warns that the opening of results or discussion of results on the school compound is not permitted, nor is congregating in groups on or outside the school compound.
Parents/guardians are asked where possible, to adhere to the schedule given by principals, and they must observe health protocols which include physical distancing and the wearing of masks.
Along with the student’s placement slip and performance report, parents/guardians will receive the SEA Information Booklet, which contains frequently asked questions about transfers, querying results, interpreting the Student Performance Report and other concerns.
As for Secondary School registration, the Ministry says registration dates will be indicated on the placement slip and performance report.
Schools will facilitate registration using a mixed method of online and walk-ins.
According to the Ministry, 22 schools will use online registration only, 44 will use walk-ins and 89 will use a mixed method of both online and walk-in registration.
Parents can contact the assigned secondary school for additional details.
