Senior police officer gets bail following indecency charges

    Acting Senior Superintendent Peter Dominique

A senior policeman has been granted $100,000 bail with surety after being charged with indecent assault and serious indecency.

Acting Senior Superintendent Peter Dominique, who was last in charge of the Emergency Response Patrol Unit (ERP), appeared in court virtually earlier today.

The case stems from allegations made by a female officer who claims that on Tuesday 21st July 2020, she went to his office to return some keys.

She says as she attempted to leave, he held her hand and closed the door before making suggestive remarks and attempting to touch her inappropriately.

The alleged incident was interrupted by a knock on the door.

The female officer then made a report to the Professional Standards Bureau and Mr Dominique was charged on Wednesday 7th October 2020.

The court matter has been adjourned to January 7th 2021.
