With Marlene Mc Donald fired, Senator Garvin Simonette has been hired as the new Public Administration Minister.
Last night, Government revealed that Ms Mc Donald would be terminated based on information that she would be charged by police.
The charges are in connection to allegations of corruption committed during the period 2008 to 2009.
The ex-Minister and four other persons are due in court today.
A brief statement from the Office of the Prime Minister says Dr Keith Rowley will today advise President Paula-Mae Weekes to:
i. revoke the appointment of Ms. Marlene McDonald as Minister of Public Administration
ii. appoint Senator Garvin Simonette as Minister of Public Administration
Senator Simonette will be sworn in at President’s House from 2pm.
He was appointed a Government Senator on September 28th, 2018.
