Six men are due before a judge today after a man was allegedly forced out of his HDC apartment at gunpoint.
According to the TTPS, the victim reported that in April 2019 he was at the George Street building when he was accosted by a man who threatened to kill him if he did not move out.
He complied, following which the apartment was allegedly occupied by a group of men.
Police have since charged five persons with willful trespass and one man with common assault in connection with the case.
The TTPS says this is the first time persons have been charged under the amended Trespass Act and warns that it “intends to use the Act more widely.”
