Six jailed, one fined for breaching curfew


    Six persons have been jailed and one fined for breaching curfew in Point Fortin.

    Clive Alexander will serve six months’ hard labour while Jamal Bailey, Josiah Bailey, Shurland Liverpool, Kareem Flemming and Avasi Peters will each serve three months’ hard labour.

    Davenand Harrinarine was fined $10,000 and failure to pay will see him jailed for a month.

    Meanwhile, Shanti Charles pleaded not guilty and the matter has been postponed.

    The persons were held by police who were conducting exercises in several communities yesterday.
