The MET Service’s Riverine Flood Alert has been extended yet again, and will remain in effect until 4pm on Saturday.
This, as communities across the country continue to experience flooding, with some of Trinidad’s major water courses still near threshold capacities.
The TTMS it has received numerous reports of ongoing riverine flooding nationwide, except in north-western and south-eastern areas.
It also again stated that no impactful rainfall is forecast overnight into tomorrow, with flood waters slowly subsiding.
It adds however that any additional rainfall will further slow the process.
The TTMS’ Forecast:
Tonight: Partly cloudy with overnight showers developing after midnight.
Tomorrow: Cloudiness increases from late morning with some showers in varying localities. There is a low to medium chance (30% to 40%) some of these showers could become heavy and or thundery.Night-time is expected to be settled, but for some lingering intermittent showers.
