THA provides ’emotional support’ for relocated Airport residents

The THA has set up a team to provide ’emotional support’ to residents who will be affected by the construction of the ANR Robinson International Airport.

Chief Secretary Hon. Kelvin Charles believes this is not an easy time for the residents.

“We understand the anxiety and fears that developments such as these can cause and therefore, as the THA, we continue to provide a level of support and comfort.”

Mr. Charles says the team will comprise social workers, counsellors and mediators, whose primary objective will be, to assist residents in coping with the changes taking place, as a result of the Land Acquisition process.

The services will be available free of charge to all affected persons who feel the need to talk or who are finding it difficult to cope.

The team will commence operations from tomorrow at the THA Airport Relocation Committee Office, at No. 203 Milford Road, Canaan, Tobago.
