Three alleged cable thieves have been arrested in two separate incidents in North Trinidad.
In the first matter, Arouca police responded to a report in the Trincity area around 2:30 on Wednesday and found several pieces of TSTT cable in a grassy area at Cazabon Drive.
They later saw a man acting suspiciously along Cane Farm Road before he entered a gold Nissan Tiida and attempted to escape.
However, the vehicle was intercepted and its two occupants were arrested.
In the second incident, officers arrested a 29-year-old San Fernando man after a report of theft of TSTT cables in Maracas/St Joseph.
Police had found a group of men on King Street transferring cables from one vehicle to another and, after an attempt to escape, one vehicle was intercepted in Mt Hope the suspect held.
