The Three Roads Youth Group in Freeport is in need of financial assistance after being selected to participate in a ‘Ramayan Festival’ in India later this month.
Two weeks ago, the group which has performed their skits on numerous occasions at the Divali Nagar, was chosen by the Mahatma Ghandi Institute and the High Commission of India.
Accommodation and transportation in India have been arranged, but the group needs to purchase tickets for the thirteen persons going on to trip, which is costing them TT$145,000.
Its President Dylan Kurjah says two villagers have loaned the group the money for the tickets, but he says they need to source the funds o repay them.
Mr Kurjah says all members are in high spirits ahead of the trip to represent T&T in India.
The NGO which is located along Mission Road in Freeport, is active in charitable work, having helped to distribute cooked food and clothing during the major floods last year, especially with the Kalpoo brothers.
Anyone willing to assist the group financially or otherwise can call the Treasurer Taran Bikram at 290-9619.
