Three Venezuelan teenagers have broken out of quarantine at Canada Hall, UWI St Augustine.

A nurse at the facility raised red flags when they failed to report for breakfast yesterday – further checks confirmed they were missing.

Police says breaching quarantine is an offence and if anyone is giving them refuge, they too can be charged with aiding and abetting.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the 14, 15 and 17-year olds are urged to call Acting ACP Wendell Williams at 237-3428 or via any of the usual TTPS hotlines.

Commenting on the matter today was Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, who assured that the risk of them infecting others was low.

Meanwhile, the TTPS notes that a WhatsApp message saying T&T will be placed into a mandatory 14-day, complete lockdown, is false news.
