Tobago Chamber – Tobago’s $$ caters mostly for salaries, not enough for development

The Tobago Business Chamber is concerned with the allocation for Tobago in the 2020 Budget.

The THA will receive $2.283 billion, however 90% of this will go towards recurrent expenditure.

Chamber Chairman Martin George says very little will be left for development.

Also, while he welcomes increases for CEPEP and URP workers, he fears there is too much dependence on these programmes.

Mr George also called on the THA to lobby the Government for the repeal the Foreign Investment Act.
