Tobago man held with $275k worth of marijuana


    A 57-year-old Tobago man is expected to be charged with the possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking following a foot pursuit yesterday.

    During an exercise, officers went to Manswell Trace, Castara, where they observed a man sitting in his porch with dried marijuana plants wrapped in a sheet.

    Upon seeing the officers, the suspect tried to flee the scene with a black bag in his hands.

    He was however held a short distance away.

    The bag contained a quantity of dried cannabis weighing 6.8kg, with estimated street value of $275,000.
