Police Commissioner Gary Griffith met today with representatives of the Bar Owners and Operators Association to discuss matters such as health regulation compliance and the illegal sale of alcohol.
BOATT President Teron Mohan and Vice President Satesh Moonasar, claimed that certain bars were being allowed to open later allowed under the Public Health Regulations, because of alleged connections between the bar owners and officers.
Commissioner Griffith has since urged the Association to report such instances directly to him for urgent investigation.
BOATT also raised the matter of vendors who sell alcohol illegally in close proximity to lawful establishments, saying they are causing problems for the Association’s members.
Commissioner Griffith has since offered to keep meeting with the Association to ensure their members are compliant with the Public Health Regulations.
