CPL defending champs, the Trinbago Knight Riders got a 100-run win in the opening match of the 2018 HERO CPL T20 tournament, defeating the St. Lucia Stars at the Queens Park Oval last night.
TKR, despite losing some early top order wickets, like Chris Lynn for 8 runs, Sunil Narine for 17 runs and Brendom McCullum for 13, they scored 195/6 in 20 overs.
This was due to two special innings: 68 runs by Colin Munro and 50 not out by Denesh Ramdin.
TKR’s bowling exposed St. Lucia quickly, as they were bowled out for 95 runs.
Skipper Dwayne Bravo took 3 wickets, along with new TKR spinner Fawad Ahmed, while CPL newcomer Ali Khan impressed with his pace and swing.
