Trincity man collapses and dies during 10k run in Tobago

A 48 year old man has died at hospital after collapsing during yesterday’s Sea to Sea marathon in Tobago.

Newsday reported that Andy Phillip of 5th Street, Cane Farm Road in Trincity traveled from Trinidad to take part in the 10k race.

He reportedly collapsed near the Lambeau Fishing Depot around 7:20am and was rushed to the Scarborough Hospital for treatment.

However, he died about half an hour later.

Phillip worked at PCS Nitrogen and his common-law wife was reported as saying that he had a history of hypertension and a pre-existing heart condition.
