Trinidad was hit by another round of flooding today, following heavy late morning and early afternoon showers.
There were reports of street and flash flooding in:
- downtown Port of Spain
- along the Eastern Main Road in Laventille and El Dorado
- St James
- Five Rivers in Arouca
- Oropune Gardens
- along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Trincity
- Mount Hololo in Santa Cruz
- parts of Caroni Savannah Road
While the MET Service has discontinued its Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert.
However it says while impactful weather associated with the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone has passed, there is still the possibility of lingering showers and the chance of an isolated thunderstorm.
It adds that while some areas in North-west Trinidad remain inundated, this is expected to gradually subside as the evening progresses.
