Tropical wave likely to become tropical depression

The tropical wave east of the Windward Islands is likely to become a tropical depression within the next two or three days.

In its 8PM a update, the National Hurricane Centre says the system continues to show signs of organization.

The disturbance is forecast to move west-northwestward across the southern Windward Islands.

Heavy rainfall and gusty winds could affect these islands beginning on Wednesday.

In T&T, the Met Service has issued a Yelliw Level Adverse Weather Alert, which will be in effect from 5am on Wednesday to 8pm on Thursday.

The TTMS says from Wednesday, there may be showers and isolated thunderstorms associated with the active tropical wave.
