Tsunami watch called off, citizens told not to panic after 6.9 magnitude quake


    The tsunami watch issued for T&T after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake this afternoon has been called off and citizens are being urged not to panic.

    National Security Minister Stuart Young gave an update on the situation and assures that all agencies have been mobilized with the police service out in full force at this time.

    Mr Young says there were reports of some structural damage and with regards to energy assets, NGC has reported that these remain intact.

    The Minister reiterates that citizens should not be terrified as the tsunami watch is no longer in effect.
