Investigations are still ongoing into an incident of larceny at the Piarco International Airport.
The Police Service says around 10am yesterday, a man dressed in a G4S Security uniform, pretending to be an officer from the security company, approached the Caribbean Airlines service desk at the airport.
The TTPS says he stated he was there to conduct a ‘Cash-in-Transit’, following which CAL employees handed over two bags of cash, containing a total of approximately TT$83,000.
But employees later learned that the man was not employed with the security company.
The Police Service says they are using all resources to retrieve the stolen cash and is urging anyone with information to contact the police, or text/WhatsApp 482-GARY (4279).
