The Children’s Authority and the OPM’s Gender & Child Affairs division are currently working with the Management and Staff of the St. Jude’s School for Girls, following two positive COVID-19 cases at the facility.
The Ministry of Health conducted the relevant tests, following reports that a child and a staff member presented with flu-like symptoms.
The School has implemented all health protocols, while parents, guardians and caregivers of the residents are being notified of the situation.
One of the measures put into place includes a stop to all external activities and visits to the compound.
A designated team of staff, which includes a Registered Nurse, will remain on-site to ensure continued operations and monitoring over the next 14 days.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Health in its morning update for Sunday 2nd August, noted that there were seven more positive COVID-19 cases, bringing the total active cases in T&T to 40.
