Two held after snatching gold chain

Two men have been arrested after snatching a gold chain in Port of Spain.

According to the TTPS, PC Mendoza of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Unit was at Queen Street yesterday, when he saw two men robbing a 24-year-old Laventille man of his gold chain.

When PC Mendoza called out to the men to stop, they allegedly fired several shots in his direction, causing him to return fire.

A party of officers attached to the Inter Agency Task Force Duncan Street Post responded to the loud explosions and joined in the hunt for the suspects.

They were directed to an apartment building on Duncan Street by a resident who said two men ran into her home without her consent.

In separate rooms, the officers found a 24-year-old man of Beetham Gardens with a Glock pistol, and a 25-year-old man of Beetham Gardens with a gold chain in his right front pants pocket.
