Two in court for drugs, paraphernalia


    Two men have appeared in court for possession of marijuana and other narcotic related offences.

    25 year old Elias Aboud of Goodwood Park, Westmoorings and 26 year old Alex Franco of Victoria Gardens, Diego Martin, were arrested on Sunday morning during a traffic exercise.

    According to Newsday, when Aboud appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine in the Port of Spain Fifth Court today, he pleaded guilty to possession marijuana, a taser and devices for the illicit use of the drug, as well as cultivating marijuana.

    Franco meanwhile pleaded not guilty to two counts of marijuana possession and devices for the illicit use of the drug.

    Aboud was allowed to leave the court on the bail he was granted at the police station on Sunday with the matter adjourned to July 19th.

    However Franco’s bail was adjusted to $120,000, with his case to be heard next Tuesday.
