UNC calls for investigation of cancelled contract

The Opposition is calling for a police investigation into the recently cancelled contract for HDC Housing by the Chinese construction company, Gezhouba Group International Engineering Ltd.

The contract was cancelled last week, and though there had been reports of discrepancies, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley said this was due to parts contract not meeting Cabinet’s acceptance and approval.

During a media briefing at the Parliament building this afternoon, Senator Wade Mark questioned some of the provisions in the contract.
