There are no moves at this time by the UNC to review the tenure of political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, following another General Election loss.
The party is facing a 22-19 defeat after Monday’s polls but has not yet conceded defeat until recounts take place in five constituencies.
UNC’s PRO Anita Haynes says the party at this time sees no reason for their leader to resign, despite several leaders of other political parties stepping down after the elections.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar tenure as UNC’s political leader expires in 2021.
Meanwhile, Ms. Haynes says the recounts for St Joseph, Tunapuna, La Horquetta/Talparo, San Fernando West and Toco/Sangre Grande are due to be completed today.
The PDP has also asked for a recount in Tobago East.
