The United States has given 1.1 million dollars to help T&T expand access to HIV services to Venezuelan migrants and other underserved populations.
In all, their contributions have totaled 2.5 million dollars for Fiscal Year 2019 for the national HIV response, in an effort to control the epidemic and save lives.
Today, Ambassador Joseph Mondello handed over 110,000 HIV Rapid Test Kits to the Ministry of Health to ensure that all in T&T, including migrants, know their HIV status.
This, he says, is essential not only to ensure an individual’s health but also to bring under control the HIV epidemic.
The Ambassador says the US will soon collaborate with NGOs to launch community HIV testing.
