UWI’s Dr Latchman: Don’t become panicked by earthquake rumours

Officials are urging persons to not become panicked by rumours following the recent earthquakes that rocked Trinidad and Tobago.

The country was again shaken by a 5.9 magnitude quake after yesterday’s 6.9 which caused structural damage and power outages.

103FM contacted Dr Joan Latchman of the UWI Seismic Research Centre after we received a Whatsapp audio warning of a large earthquake.

Also commenting on the issue was National Security Minister Stuart Young during today’s post Cabinet media briefing.

Dr Latchman however says nothing should be taken for granted.
