For the second time in as many weeks, vandals have struck a WASA facility, disrupting the water supply to several communities.
The target this time was the Bennett Storage Tank located off John Field Road, Bennett Village.
The perpetrators reportedly removed about 80 feet of 8 inch steel pipe that connects the tank to the distribution system, as well as the guard rail around the top of the tank.
WASA says the facility has been rendered inoperable, thus affecting the water supply to Bennett Village, Los Bajos and environs.
It says work to replace the stolen pipeline and repair damages is underway, and should be completed by April 16th.
Just last week, on April 5th, the electrical system at the Fyzabad Well No. 8 was vandalized and parts removed, affecting the supply of water to persons in Fyzabad.
