WASA says a mechanical issue affecting a pump at the Caura Water Treatment Plant has led to issues with the water supply in some areas.
Emergency repairs are currently underway and are expected to be completed by 10 o’clock tonight.
Areas affected include: Northern side of Eastern Main Road, from Richard Street, Tacarigua to Dixon Street, Tunapuna (inclusive of side streets): Crown Street, Paradise East & West, Paradise Gardens, Vista Heights, El Dorado Gardens, Goya Street, Caura Royal Road, Madoo Hill, College Road, El Dorado Road.
According to WASA, the issue has led to low water pressures or no water supply in parts of El Dorado, Tacarigua and environs.
Meanwhile, repairs are continuing on a ruptured 12 inch pipeline in Upper Maracas Valley, St Joseph.
These are expected to be completed by 8am tomorrow.
This issue has led to a supply disruption in Valley View, Maracas, St. Joseph.
WASA advises that it may take up to 24 hours for the water supply to normalise to some affected areas, following the completion of repairs.
