Work to begin on ‘dark’ Clarke Rochard school

Government has promised that work will soon begin on the electrical works at the Clarke Rochard Government School.

Earlier this week, parents of students at the school held a protest, saying two months ago one electrical meter blew, leaving children in darkness.

With no fans powered, this also raised a ventilation issue.

Minister Terrence Deyalsingh answered a question on the issue on behalf of the Education Minister posed by the Opposition Leader.

The school houses over 600 children and classes from the first year to standard two have been dismissed at earlier times since the electrical problem began.
