3rd Test: England’s middle order saves the Day

After losing the toss to the West Indies in St. Lucia, England controlled Day 1 of the third and final Test by scoring 231/4.

Ben Stokes (62*) and Jos Buttler (67*) led the fightback, after England top order misfired again.

Alzarri Joseph got the prized wicket of Joe Root for 15 while Keemo Paul took 2/42 and Shannon Gabriel took 1/41 on the day.

England have already lost the three-match series, after the Windies won the first two games.

However, they are currently without skipper Jason Holder, who has been their leading man this series, but is now suspended for an over-rate issue.
