Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the United States for the club’s preseason tour, leaving the Londoners disappointed.
In a statement on its website, the club says the defender’s action is against its clear instructions.
BBC Sport reports that the 33 year old defender will be out of contract at the end of the 2019-20 season but that he asked to be released a year early.
However Arsenal refused and yesterday, Koscielny communicated his intention not to join the squad on their pre-season tour.
The club begins its tour with the opening match on July 15th against Colorado Rapids in Denver.
